GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
  • SILENCE & DISCIPLINE should be maintained in the library.
  • Personal belongings must be kept at the property counter.
  • Using Mobile phones and audio instruments are strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  • Eating, sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited in the library.
  • Documents taken out of the shelves must be left on the circulation counter. Replacing the books on shelves is not encouraged as it may get misplaced. Misplaced book is like a lost book.
  • Users are required to handle library materials very carefully; marking with pencil, writing or highlighting, using whitener, tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such case user shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.
  • No library material can be taken out of the library without permission. Unauthorized removal of anything belonging to the library will be treated as theft and dealt accordingly.
  • Anyone who violates the rules, regulations and misbehave inside the library would be liable to lose the privilege of library membership and may be debarred from using the library facilities.
  • All library users who intend to leave the institute should settle all the dues and obtain “NO DUE CERTIFICATE” from the library.
  • If you face any difficulty, please do not hesitate to contact with Library staff. 

 

CIRCULATION GUIDELINES

  1. Books will be issued on presentation of the ID card. Users are instructed to check the books while borrowing and they will be responsible for any type of damage or mutilation noticed at the time of return.
  2. Reservation: A user can reserve at a time one book as he/she is eligible to borrow, provided they are issued out. User will be informed by mail when the book is ready for issue, which is to be collected within the period specified.
  3. Renewal: A book can be re-issued to the same person if there is no reservation for it. Renewals can be made over library portal, or in person, on or before the due date.
  4. Materials borrowed should be returned on or before the due date stamped, if returned late overdue fine Rs.1/- per day will be charged for the delayed period.
  5. If the book(s) are lost or damaged, the borrower shall replace the book(s) of the same edition or latest edition or pay triple cost of the book along with the overdue & processing charges.
  6. The librarian may recall any book from any user at any time and the user shall return the same immediately.

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING LIBRARY COMPUTERS

  1. Access of Computer is limited to registered library users (Institute ID card is compulsory).
  2. All users should strictly mark their entry in the given register before using the systems.
  3. The systems are allowed to use for academic purpose only.
  4. Use of any social networking sites, entertainment sites and playing games are strictly prohibited.
  5. Kindly remember that the system should not be reserved for continuous use or whole day.
  6. Please do not keep your files in the computer hard disk, the library will not be responsible for any loss.

* Circulation of Textbook Reference (TBR): User can issue the reference book 30 minutes before closing of library and should return the book before 10AM of next library working day. Loan period will be decided by the library staff on the basis of current situation and demand of Textbook reference.
NB: Journals, Magazines, Newspapers, Audio-Visual collections and Reference Books (Except Text Book Reference) comes under ‘Not for loan’ category.
